****call on Members to acquire their PVCs.

By Moses Omovevah

Isoko- The Leadership of Isoko North Equity Movement has commended members of the group for their steadfastness and support, over the years and urged members of the group to collect their Permanent Voters Cards before the 2023 General Elections.

Isoko North Equity Movement leaders lead by Hon Emmanuel Egbabor gave the commendation in an enlarge meeting of the group with over 550 members held today, 15th June 2023 at Equity Movement secretariat, Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State urging members not to relent in their determination and support for the group.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of Isoko North Movement, Hon Alex Okathe, said that, the purpose of the meeting is to appreciate members of the group for their steadfastness and commitment to the aims and objectives of the group since its formation till date.

He noted that, “The foundational aims and objectives of Isoko North Equity Movement, which was the rotation of elective positions within Isoko North Constituency has been achieved.

“Isoko North Equity Movement was found mainly for the rotation of elective positions within Isoko North Constituency.  Today, as I speak to you all, the aim has been achieved. That’s why Oyede was able to get the position of the Local Government Council Chairman and the PDP candidate for Isoko North Constituency is from Ozoro.”

On his part, the Leader of the group,  Hon Egbabor, said,  “I am very excited seeing you all gathered here today within 48 hours notice of this meeting. This shows that, Isoko North Equity Movement is still very much alive to its responsibilities. “Those that thoughtIsoko North Equity Movement is no longer existing are all ashamed today”. We are even more stronger because we now know those who are committed to the family ideals of the group.

“I want to assure you all that, as far as Isoko North is concerned,  there is no politics in Isoko North when we talk about general election that anybody will win without the support of members of Isoko North Equity Movement. They do not have the numbers of people we have.

“Few people came together and wrote the ad-hoc list that was used in the primaries. Because they knew if the primary election was conducted based on the Ward excos and Councillors,  they won’t have won. They wrote 40 names, I Emmanuel Egbabor was not there. Now they have used the 40 names to win the primaries.  Let them use the 40 names to win general elections.”

He appealed to all members to get your Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) because the PVC automatically qualifies you to be a delegate in the general elections. There is nothing to worry about,  the umbrella of the party is very big to accommodate all. The party, PDP belongs to everyone of us and we remain members of the PDP.

“We are PDP members and we remain members of the party.  As a group,  we shall decide what to do. Don’t be afraid of anyone because they need us to win the general elections. ”

Also speaking, another Leader of the group, Chief Emmanuel Erezih Okpomo appealed to members of Isoko North Equity Movement to forgive the past leadership of the group over their gross misconduct in the just concluded primaries.

He noted that, the Leadership of the group has resolved to be on a new slate, positing that,  “The era of dictatorship in the party is over. PDP belongs to all of us and no one person can claim ownership of the party. I urge you all to go and get your PVC,  because that is the only way you can exercise your right. We will stand firm, because when you stand firm on your right,  nobody can intimidate you. ”

Others who spoke in the same vein are,  High Chief Enakeno Apar-Itesah, Chairman Advisory Council, Hon Isaiah Ewuku, 1st Vice Chairman,  Hon Emmanuel Inonoje, 2nd Vice Chairman, Mrs Caro Ako, and Mrs Charity Edhebe, Women Leaders.

They all commended the leadership of Isoko North Equity Movement for calling the meeting and also pledged their unalloyed support and loyalty to the group, noting that,  they will collect their PVC and ensure that they vote according to the directive of Isoko North Equity Movement.
