Dependable soures at the venue of the declaration comfided on this medium that following late arrival of Mr. Augustine Ovie Omo-agege to the venue, angry youths and some members of the All Progressive Congress, APC in the State rejected deputy Senate President of the nineth Assembly, Mr. Augustine Ovie Omo-Agege gubernatorial ambition by throwing bottle water at the direction of Mr. Omo-agege during his official declaration to contest the 2023 Delta State gubernatorial election.
According reports, Bottle water was said to have been thrown at the direction of Mr. Omo-Agege three consecutive times at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), Delta State, venue of the declaration, a development that kept security officials on high alert.
Mr. Omo-agege declared his intention to succeed Governor Okowa of Delta State under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) was rejected following bottle water thrown at him suspected to be angry youths few minutes after he mounted the podium to give a declaration message for keeping them waiting for so long.
According to reports, Mr. Ovie Omo-agege didn’t arrived the venue till 2:17pm, when supporters cum other APC members besieged the venue as early as 8am, a development that sparkled mixed feelings among APC members.
It was also gathered some heavyweights and APC Federal government appointees that includes; Victor Ochei, Caro Ojogbo, Ebe Kachikwu, Festus Keyamo, Great Ogboru amongst others shun the declaration, as insider sources told our correspondent that Mr. Omo-agege hijacked the APC structure in the State, citing Omo-Agege greedy nature as rationale for shunning the declaration.
