People’s Democratic Party, PDP leaders and stakeholders of Federal Ward 11 in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State have passed a vote of confidence on Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the member representing Ethiope Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ben Igbakpa, endorsing him for a second tenure in 2023 just as they moved a motion to affirm Igbakpa as the leader of the ward based on his charismatic leadership and excellent performances.
Addressing Party leaders, excos and Chieftains yesterday, January 8, 2022, the conveners of the meeting, Chairman, Elders forum, Chief Emmanuel Ajakari, the Ward Chairman, Ugo Marvis Erhie among other party leaders, showered encomium on the member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency at the green Chambers of the National Assembly, stressing that his records have remained unbeatable.
The Ward leaders and stakeholders also, expressed a feeling of nostalgia, recalling the excellent performances of the lawmaker whose legacies, according to them, were still very visible in the area years after he left the State executive council as commissioner for transport.
According to one of the front leader of the Ward and former Council, Hon. Kingsley Akpeninor said Hon. Igbakpa demonstrated very impressive and impactful representation as a first timer in the National Assembly, adding that every indigene of Ethiope Federal constituency experienced the positive impact of his legislation.
“Today’s meeting was convened as end of year get together and also to emphasize the leadership cum legislative prowesss of Rt. Hon. Ben Igbakpa and to renew the call of the people of Ethiope Federal constituency for Rt. Hon. Igbakpa to seek re-election to represent the good people of Ethiope Federal constituency, come 2023 because his performances thus far has been excellent. We want him to go back to the House to continue his good works.”
Akpeninor also noted that the essence of the was for the ward to express their affirmation and a vote of confidence on Gov. Okowa and Rt. Hon. Ben Igbakpa for their good works.
“We are here today for end of year get together but I want us to use this opportunuty for affirmation. The affirmation is one, for His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State, for the prudent use of the State resources to exceute people oriented projects and programs. Two, there is this clamour call for Hon. Ben Igbakpa to come and rerun for theEthiope Federal Constituency atthe Green Chambers of the NASS.”
“In his stay at the NASS, he has performed excellently well. His scorecard is unbeatable. Today, we can now boast that we have a representative in the House. That is why you see that even the market women, youths and Party chieftains have joined the call for Hon. Igbakpa to return to the House to represent the good people of Ethiope Federal Constituency.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the passing of vote of confidence on the governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as well as Hon. Ben Igbakpa urged him not be deterred with his works but keep head straight to seek re-election. The motion was moved by Hon. Kingsley Akpeninor and was unanimously adopted.
