In what could be described as desperate moves to attain power, immediate Delta State Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan has officially dump the All Progressive Congress, APC for the People’s Democratic Party, PDP today and has been issued a new PDP card at his Abigborodo ward 6 unit 1, following his moves to contest the position senate at the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Uduaghan was issued PDP party card at exactly 12noon at Abigborodo in Warri North Local Government of Delta State, amid jubilations from the PDP family in Delta State.
After issuing the PDP Party card to him, Uduaghan while addressing Party faithfuls explained that he left his PDP card in Abigborodo, the ancestral home of the former governor, he described PDP has his home noting that he was not comfortable staying in APC; just as he averred that staying in APC is like a Landlord staying in a rented apartment.
According to dependable sources, Uduaghan return to the PDP was to enable him contest for the position of the senate come 2023 since the incumbent Senator, representing Delta South Senatorial district at the National Assembly, Sen. James Manager may contest for governorship according to credible PDP sources. Uduaghan was said to have sealed this deal with PDP before his eventual return.
According to another credible source who confided on our correspondent hinted that the position will not be automatic for Uduaghan, just as he postited that the current DESOPADEC Chairman, Mr. Micheal Diden A.K.A Ejele is still interested in the position noted that Ejele is not anyway ready to give up his senatorial ambition for Uduaghan.
Our sources also stated that the Party hierrachy has appealed to the duo of Uduaghan and Ejele to agree at a point where one would produce the next Council Chairman while the latter go to senate, a development many described as a dangerous decision for Uduaghan, following alleged subtle attitude of Mr. Ejele who would settle to produce the Chairman of Warri North Local government and later drag the senate position with Uduaghan come 2023.
Uduaghan return to PDP has been greeted with mixed reactions. According to some, Uduaghan was described as an unstable politician while others viewed his return as a move to reunite with his clique that cofounded PDPD in Delta State and a desperate moves to attain power.
The medium reported last week of Gov. Uduaghan moves to dump the APC for PDP, where he met Gov. Okowa on the 12th September, 2020 in Government House, where they agreed at a decision, following Chief James Ibori decision to wade into the cold war between Gov. Okowa and Emmanuel Uduaghan with a view to unite the party ahead of 2023 general election.
