Sequel to the Petition written and signed by Chiefs from Oghareki community numbering over twenty Chiefs, bordering on Misappropriation of fund, abuse of office, highhandedness, vandalism among other allegations by the petitioners, the traditional ruler of Oghara kingdom, Orefe 111 has striped one Mr. Emmanuel Ofotokun as Chief, suspended the Unugbrogodo of Oghareki, Chief Destiny Okwe for three months and Chief Johnbull Atika for five years over alleged fraud allegations, abuse of office among others.

The traditional ruler decisions was contained in a letter addressed to the leadership of Oghareki Oguedion and was read by Chief Khalil Tanno during yesterday 11/08/2020 sitting.

According to the traditional ruler’s letter, he stated that he received a copy of the petition dated 18 July 2020, where he appointed a three man investigative panel to properly investigate the claims of the petitioners and recommend appropriate punishment for the accused Chiefs if found culpable.

The Panel headed by Uzzi Samson Takpor, Chief Williams Makinde (member) and Hon Precious Ajaino as Secretary respectively on the 5th of August, 2020 submitted their reports to the monarch.

The Panel according to an inside sources found the accused culpable in some of the allegations leveled against them.

After the monarch’s letter properly read at the Oghareki Oguedion (town hall) were the Oghareki traditional Chiefs adopted the directives, debated other vital issues outlined for that day sitting.

Chief Khalil Tanno was appointed as Chairman of the Caretaker committee to piloting the Oghareki community affairs.

The Monarch’s letter as sighted our correspondent and read by Chief Tanno also stated that Chief Okwe Destiny who was suspended for 3months ordered to return a said amount of money as alleged back to the community coffers, while Chief Atika Johnbull that was also suspended for five years was asked to reapply as a chief applicant if still interested to be Oghara Chief as the five years suspension.

Curious to know the position of the Ovie, that day sitting was highly Attended by High Chiefs, Aged Women,Otota/ Olotu with security agents beefed around the town hall to forstall any breakdown of law and order.
