Ethiope West Chairmanship: It’s the turn of Jesse Ward 5 (9) to produce the next Chairman says Chief Aghomi


Ahead of the forthcoming Local government election in the state, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and Prominent leader of Jesse Ward 5 (9), Chief Matthew Aghomi has made a strong statement that all other wards in Jesse should queue behind Jesse Ward 5 (9) to produce the next Chairman of Ethiope West local government Area of Delta State, just as he hinted that it’s the turn of Jesse Ward 5 (9) to produce the next Ethiope West Local Government Chairman.

The PDP Chieftain disclosed this yesterday while addressing PDP members of Jesse Federal ward 5 and State ward 9 explained that since inception of Democratic rules, the Ward has not been given any opportunity either by election or appointment into political positions, hinted that Ward can no longer be political hewers of wood at this time around.

He urged Leaders, excos and members of the Ward to be ready in the struggle to produce the next Council Chairman, stressing that the Ward has a lot of technocrats and professionals that can man any position.

According to Chief Aghomi opined that every other aspirants from other wards in Jesse to jettisoned their ambition and support the aspirant that would be endorsed by the Ward as Chairman.

He also noted that the ward votes during elections has been total for PDP wondering why they (the ward) should not be rewarded for their block votes. Appealed to Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa and the leadership of the Party to support the Ward to achieve their goal. He added.

It would recalled that following the zoning principle among their various kingdoms in Ethiope West local government, it has been allegedly agreed among leaders that Jesse (Ijerhe) kingdom would produce the next Council Chairman for equity and justice in the Local government.
