Obiuwevbi Ominimini has called on the chairman of Independent
Electoral Commission, INEC, Mahamood Yakubu to cancel elections in
Evwreni wards, Omo-Agege Unit and three other units in Orogun ward 1
and 2 all in Ughelli north local government area of Delta State.

Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Engr. Samuel Adjogbe of hijacking
voting materials and using his security men attached to his office to
insult and intimidated INEC ad-hoc staffers deployed to Evwreni ward
from their constitutional duty.

According to him, “the Executive Director Projector of NDDC, Engr.
Samuel Ajogbe has brought himself so low and demonstrated what can be
best described as 21st Century barbaric  act in the history of the
world by using his security operatives attached to his office and
Soldiers to allegely collect Accord Party Agent’s tags and chase them away from
the ten polling units of Evwreni.

“Adjogbe took all the voting materials and INEC ad-hoc staffers from
the polling units to the community town hall for massive thumb
printing to match with the earlier accredited numbers of voters by the
card reader, and collation was simultaneously carried out in the town
hall instead of the approved collation center”.

Narrating his ordeal in the hand of the police, he said, he went to
the police station to complained when his party agents called that
they were chased away from accessing voting papers and result sheets

complains known to the Commissioner of Police on Election, CP Cyril
Okoro who in turn called the EO (name withheld) on phone and I was
asked to narrate what happened to the EO adding that after narrating
what happened in Evwreni, the EO said it is the duty of the police
to go there to stop Adjogbe and his cohort of their criminality acts
not INEC but the police insisted that the INEC has the constitutional
right to cancel election and not police.

Ominimini said, neither the police non the EO in Ughelli north local
government area deemed it fit to go there to verified the situation
complained about if it was true or not, a development that prompted him to
called on the Delta State Resident Electoral Commissioner who
immediately intervened immediately assured that the results from
Evwreni cannot be accepted it must be cancelled to serve as a
deterrent to other.

While calling for cancellation of Ovie Omo-Agege unit and three other
units in Orogun, he said there were 24 polling units in Orogun ward 2,
election took place in 21 units, stressed that one Mr. Omo-Agege Jimmy allegely
hijacked the ballot papers to his house and ordered his boys to thumb
print the papers massively, also the Executive Director, Delta River
Basin Authority, Mr. Ben Okwonu allegedly forced himself into the
polling unit in Unit 14 Emonu and took away all the ballot papers and
other voting papers to Mr. Jimmy Omo-Agege’s house for massive thumb
printing.
Also corroborating Ominimini, the duo of Hon. Desmond Okpako from
Evwreni and Mrs. Philo Orhe from Agbarha – Otor said the elections in
their areas were marred with irregularities calling for a total
