Below is the Press release:

HIS EXCELLENCY:
THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE, DR.IFEANYI OKOWA, ON  APPROVAL OF 70 ROADS PROJECTS IN DELTA STATE.

With due respect Your Excellency, the executive Governor of Delta State , Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, we  read of your approval of seventy (70 )Roads Projects to be constructed across the various geo-political Zones of the State of which the Ijaw Communities are not an exception.

We as a  Movement that has the interest of the progress of the Ijaw people in Delta State and beyond have observed that several developmental projects    have not been enjoyed in our Local Government Areas that covers the Ijaw communities of Patani,Bomadi,Ogbe -
Ijo,Burutu, and Warri South West respectively .

With kind submission your Excellency, we felt  a great concern to express our grievances before you, as this sort of negligence is disheartening in the spirit, that in  the previous election campaign; we the Ijaw speaking people knew the role we played by making sure, in  a one tone had given you a bloc Vote , that gave you an edge of having excelled into governance in the election of  2015.

The Ijaw Affairs Movement (IAM)hereby Pass a ''Vote of No Confidence ",on the Okowa led adminstration and  on every Ijaw  man in the Okowa  led administration, for negligence and  not doing  the needful in the negotiating for  the  interest of the Ijaw people of  Delta State.

However, the Deputy Governor, the Chief of Staff, the Commissioners, the Special Advisers of Ijaw speaking communities are hereby tagged  as failures for their inability to do the needful.

Furthermore, we  send a strong signal to every
Ijaw youth in every Ijaw speaking community not minding party affiliation, that they  should rise up and take this challenge for a change of mind in negotiating our interest to bring development and growth to Ijaw communities in Delta State.

We read also that a meeting was held on Wednesday 28th November 2018 and presided over by the State Governor approving 70 road project to be executed
and the list of projects awarded does not included any Ijaw Speaking Community which heralds to us as a sign of deliberate marginalization and abandonment .

We as a Movement use this medium  to pass our message to the Governor, so as to look into the poor and dilapidated condition of our roads in the riverine communities, whose roads suffer quick damage.

Democracy is the bedrock of good governance to meet the aspiration of the people having good roads is one of the amenities these remote communities
could enjoy to awaken in them the sense of belonging in this political dispensation.

We urge His Excellency to reconsider the well being of our people who desire good governance.

Singed for IJAW AFFAIRS MOVEMENT (IAM)
