Continuing he stressed that three years ago he moved into the All Progressives Congress as the ideals of the PDP were no longer in consonance with my beliefs as a person, hinted that he believed that would give him the opportunity to serve Delta State in that capacity; opined that he knew and believed he would be able to perform.
Ochei stated that as someone who understand the intricacies of the Delta State, he knew that Delta State would not have rank less than Lagos State in terms of Infrastructures posited that Delta has not gotten to his promised land, assures of massive development if given the mandate.
"I intend to bring my wealth of experience to do my best, and I believe that that should be the simple reason why, and if the party electorate find me worthy of being the party's Standard Bearer, then I'm very certain we will surpass their thinking for Delta state. That Is My Pledge"

While fielding questions from Journalists, The 49 year-old Delta guber aspirant who is a Fellow of Nigerian Society Of Engineers, stated that the Present Administration in the state ranks as the worst ever, and lamented that three and a half years after the administration began there is yet to be a star project successfully initiated and completed by the the it.
He decried the inability to factor in on projects that will be commensurate with the kind of resources that delta state earns and has received in the past three and half years, unlike other sister states in the south south who are taking advantage of their resources to improve their states' standard of living. He queried the alleged debt profile which has been used as an excuse by the government, calling on it to come clean as to how much debt was met when it assumed office, the earnings that have come, how much debt it has incurred since 2015 and how the incurred debt has impacted the state. He also challenged the state government to draw a correlation with the debts and standard of affairs in the state.
He stated "I feel very ashamed when I look at states very close to us, talking precisely of Anambra state and Edo state, those are stated with very small purses but you can see developmental projects that are commission able and that one can point fingers at, but you can't find any in Delta state and the Average man on the street knows it."
Reacting on his chances of picking the party's ticket, noted that the peculiar developments in Delta APC, Rt Hon Ochei stated that "it is a contest and you can't say because there is a contest you will not go in. There will be a contest and at the end, these factions you see will fizzle away and the party will then unite behind the candidate who will now lead the charge.
"At this stage party structures are no longer issues and the campaign organization will now drive the campaign to win the election, and at that point factions become insignificant. The question is how sure am I that I'll get the ticket. I'm not God and I'm not going to tell you this, the President in his wisdom and the National Chairman advocated for Direct Primaries and in my opinion you can't have Democracy better than that. Let the people decide who they want to go for them. You throw it back to the people and not a select few who are delegates, and I feel that when it gets to that point, if you are convinced that you've worked hard for the party and its development, the party members will pick you. Be rest assured that when it is thrown back to the party members and they pick you, those who picked you will be the first to work for you and ensure your victory at the elections. Direct primaries are like a general election before the general elections so I subscribe to it and I encourage others to also go with it. In direct primaries there is nothing like factions because everyone is an APC member, therefore they all come and make the Choice of who they want. And I believe that by God's grace through this process I will make it". He added.
