Sources close to Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa stated that the governor was in confused state as the news of Uduaghan confirming his imminent defection to newsmen, was said to have made a fantastic calls to Chief James Ibori to informing him of the development, but Ibori allegedly told Okowa that he has tried his best to stop Uduaghan from his planned defection.
Gov. Uduaghan disclosed his plan to defect to the All Progressive Congress, APC to our publisher, Kparobo Ehvwubare in a telephone conversation on Wednesday night, following our publisher memo to him recently.

Chief James Ibori and Emmanuel Uduaghan recently
The former governor noted that his imminent defection has nothing to do with his Senatorial ambition as been peddled, just as just noted that he can muscled his way through in PDP, describing his planned defection as a way to secure his political future and that of his followers.
“ Kparobo! I am not defecting because of my Senatorial ambition, but after considering my political future and that of my followers, I have to leave PDP for good”
“If it were to be only the senatorial struggle I know I can muscled my way through”
Uduaghan noted that the political workload was too much on Ibori hence his resolved to move to APC to get Federal power to help his people, a development he believed would reduce the workload on Ibori, stressing that upon his several attempts to convince Ibori , he was not favourably disposed to allow him to leave the party, but he has leave to secure his political future.
“I have made several efforts to persuade my Oga (Ibori) to allow me take my leave but he insisted I should remain in the party but I have to go for the good of my people”
Investigations revealed that Ibori has been prevailing on his cousin, Emmanuel Uduaghan not to leave the party, but our correspondent gathered that Uduaghan’s resolved to dump the party was linked to the alleged mistreatment melted on the former governor by Okowa and other party hierarchy in the State.
Gov. Okowa was said to have kneeled down to Ibori to prevail on Uduaghan not to dump the party when Okowa paid the Ibori family condolence visit over the death of Williams Ibori recently.
That same day, Ibori, Uduaghan and Okowa went into a closed doors meeting that lasted for about two hours pleading with Uduaghan but insider close told our correspondent that Uduaghan turned down Ibori and Okowa’s plea, noted that he has resolved to dump the party, but only waiting for Ibori to give him go ahead.
It was also gathered that after several emissaries sent to Ibori by Uduaghan to allow him to go, but Ibori insisted that Uduaghan must remain in the party, but Uduaghan has chose to take his destiny on his hand.
Uduaghan believed that with him at the Federal on the platform of APC, his followers and Deltans could be at the Federal by way of Federal appointments, employment and Federal presents in Delta State.
It was not however confirmed the precise date Uduaghan would dump the party.
