Oghara women, youths among others has perfected plans to embark on peaceful protest against the alleged injustice melted on them by Gov. Okowa led administration, following the alleged refusal by Delta State government to pay compensation claims for them..

Representatives of Otumara and Okurho communities while briefing journalists today on their preparedness to embark on the planned protest after a joint meeting today in Oghara explained that the two communities would mobilize their people to shut down the East- West road on Monday, 20th August, 2019.

According to them, there was no going back on the planned protest to demand for their compensation claims over land ceded to Nigeria Navy in the area, hinted that Delta State government has deliberately refused to pay them their entitlements hence the reason to shut down the East West road to register their ordeal in the hand of Delta State government.

Elder Clifford Obalaye and Elder Paul David who spoke to correspondent on Tuesday stressed that all is now set for Tuesday protest in the area, noting that they have alerted all relevant agencies on the planned protest billed for next week Monday.

They noted that the communities women and aged ones would occupy the ever busy East-West road at Oghara junction, however warned travelers to use alternatives routes because the road may be shut down pending when Delta State government is ready to pay them their compensation. They added.
