The member representing Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and leading Delta Central Senatorial aspirant, Rt. Hon Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq., has salute the Urhobo people as Delta state turns 27 years old today.
According to the first Urhobo female parliamentarian, the creation of Delta State 27 years ago was borne out of the yearnings and agitations of Deltans to have a better state of their own.
Delta State is one of the fastest growing state in terms of infrastructural and human capital development, amongst the nine (9) states created in August 1991
"I know that former Governor James Ibori, immediate past Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa will be revered and honored by Deltans and indeed Nigeria at large for building Delta state from nothing to the stage it is today.
"Secondly, the enormous contributions of our National Leader and Father, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, the second democratically elected Governor of Delta State can not be over emphasised because the foundations he laid were what other administrations have been building on.
"As a child of Urhobo Nation, I am proud of my people, I am happy to be a Deltan. I know that with our collective efforts, Delta State will become the Dubai of Nigeria soon", she stated.
