Petrol explosion sends woman to early grave in Oghara

It was a black Tuesday for the people of Oghara community in Ethiope West Local government of Delta State, following an accident involving a woman as a result of the petrol explosion.

According to eye witness, the middle age woman was carrying fifty litres of Premium motor spirit popularly called petrol when a car from behind ran into her, which caused the explosion where woman was said to have been strangled to death by the petrol explosion.   

Contacted, the Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO Mr. Andrew ………confirmed the incident, told our correspondent that the incident happened at along Ibori road by Okurho junction; noted that police has swung into investigation, while the driver was said to be in police custody, assured of justice at the end of the day.

As at the time of filing this report, the lifeless body of the woman was said to have been deposited in an undisclosed mortuary in Oghara.

Unconfirmed reports posited that the deceased woman was said to be selling black market petrol, noted that she was coming from one of the petroleum depots in the Oghara with 50 litres of petrol.

However, recently Police Area Commander in-charge of the area, CSP M.S Rojau issued an arrest order of those doing petrol black market business, but the police in the area seems to have doffed off in that regard, a development many described as an attempt to undermine the power of the Area Commander. 

It would be recalled that petrol explosion as a result of Black market sellers has claimed over 10 souls in less than two months in Oghara.
