Ifeanyi Okowa, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, his counterpart in Directorate of Orientation, Mr. Eugene Uzum among others are currently brimming stones and fire to deal with a journalist cum online publisher, Mr. Albert Ograka if he fails to pull down a fraud story reported by him in his online medium, blanknews.

According to Mr. Ograka who spoke in Asaba noted that the dual of Charles Aniagwu and Eugene Uzum called him on phone with rude warning, threatened to use their offices to influence security agents in the State to deal with him and family.

“Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu called and requested that the said report should be pulled down and apology given if not, “he will allow the use of operatives of the Nigeria Police and Department of State Security (DSS) to arrest me”

Contacted, the dual of CPS to Delta state governor, Mr. Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, the Executive Assistant to the governor, Directorate of Orientation, Delta state, Mr. Eugene Uzum, denied issuing any threat to him, but only called his attention that the story was false, and that his facts are not correct.

In a related development, Delta State Online Publishers Forum, DOPF has condemned the act in totality, while calling on government officials to be civil in addressing issues, especially as it relates to journalists.

In a Statement issued by the DOPF on Thursday signed by the Secretary of the body, Mr. Shedrack Onitsha decried the overzealous nature of some government officials despite the robust relationship the body maintain with the Delta State government, the governor’s aides could resort to threatening its member over a report published of a fraud allegedly perpetuated by a former government official while in office.

“We had expected that with level of cooperation given to this government by DOPF, one would have expected its officials to reach out to our leadership before resorting to threats, as it’s obtainable in civilized climate, rather than resort to threats and intimidation”.

It would be recalled that Mr. Albert Ograka reported that the Economic Financial Crimes Commission allegedly arrested Mrs. Pat Ejeteh, the immediate past Chairperson of the State Universal Education Board, SUBEB, over N500Million naira fraud while in office.

When our correspondent Contacted Mr. Wilson Uwajeren, EFCC spokesperson noted that he cannot confirmed the arrest of Mrs. Pat Ejeteh, however pleaded with our correspondent for time to confirm and get back to him.

“I cannot confirm her arrest to you now, I will plead for time to confirm and get back to you” EFCC spokesperson added.
As at the time of filing the report, Mr. Wilson Uwajeren has not call our correspondent.

A source within SUBEB told our correspondent that there was an alleged EFCC invitation to the embattled Mrs. Pat Ejeteh, that she cannot confirmed if she was whistled away by officials of EFCC neither would she confirmed if she is currently cooling off in EFCC net.

In another development, a journalist from Isoko nation, Delta South Senatorial district, Mr. Armour Udemude also within the week raised alarm over an alleged assassination attempt allegedly being plotted by officials of Delta State government.

Udemude who is a correspondent with an online news platform in his facebook page hinted that because of his criticism on shabby projects being executed by Delta State government in Isoko nation and Delta at large, had been told of a plot to assassinate him in the area.

Intelligence report before me has revealed that a certain guy who goes by a nickname "COLONEL" has been contracted to assassinate me......, It is a known fact that, as a JOURNALIST, I have been a critic of issues generally in no particular order, as a result, some persons who feel ruffled and uncomfortable want me silenced...........” Udemude added
