Don’t be intimidated by lecturers with selfish gains, WDC VC tells students

The Vice Chancellor, Western Delta University, Oghara, Prof. Mrs. Otete C. Okobia has cautioned students across the country and Western Delta University in particular not to be intimidated by lecturers who swooped on students for selfish gains, just as she averred that the institution would not hesitate to show such lecturer the way out from the institution if found culpable.

Prof. Mrs. Okobia disclosed this at the weekend at the 11th matriculation ceremony of Western Delta University, Oghara, explained that the institution is known for its standard, where its students compete favourably with their counterparts across the globe.

The VC while addressing the newly admitted students, enjoined them to take their studies seriously, as the institution has no room for lazy students, cautioned matriculants against any act that would jeopardize their stay in the institution. Averred that although there are challenges in achieving success in life, but with resilience and hard work surmount such challenges.
“Remember that life in the University is not easy. It is a life of hard work and adventure into unknown areas of life. Do not lose the opportunity to attend lectures, do your assignments for opportunity lest can hardly be regained”.
“You will have challenges and obstacles but resilience, hard work and with God you shall achieved the reason while you are in this institution”. She added.
She encouraged students to join various clubs in the school, to avoid  being misled by others to join bad activities that would jeopardize their stay in the institution. High point of the ceremony was the signing of matriculation oath by matriculants.
