Oshiomole may emerge as APC National Chairman as Buhari nailed Oyegun's fate

Former Edo State governor, Comr. Adams Oshiomole may succeed the incumbent National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Presidency source has confided on our correspondent in Abuja, following President Muhammadu Buhari declaration at National Executive Council NEC meeting, held on Tuesday, which nailed the fate of the National Chairman of the All Progress Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie Oyegun for tenure elongation for Oyegun, just as the President declared such moves as illegal and unconstitutional.

According to a top Presidency source of the Party told our correspondent that the President was no longer comfortable with Mr. Oyegun, disclosed that the former Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomole may emerged as the Party National Chairman.

Our dependable source who was in the meeting, explained that President Buhari expressed doubt on Mr. Oyegun capacity to lead the Party to victory in the forthcoming general election, noted that President Buhari and other top National executives of the Party has allegedly penciled Adams Oshiomole for the position, a move many party stalwarts described as a welcome development.

It would be recalled that Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State announced the tenure elongation by one year, starting from June, to newsmen at the end of a NEC meeting last month, stressing that the decision was taken in line with the party´s Constitution.

While reacting on the development after the meeting, the Party National Chairman, John Oyegun explained that the decision was to give the party room to face the serious task ahead, especially the 2019 general elections, thanked the party leadership for the opportunity to serve.
