Crisis looms as Udu Council Boss, Brown send thugs after PDP Party Chairman, members

Crisis is currently brewing in Udu Local government of Delta State following an alleged manhandling of the People Democratic Party, PDP Chairman, Prince Sam C Ughujowhovwo by two serving Councillors, Ike Ayoro Akpojotor and Dumaro Segba,Harrison Veta on alleged order of the Udu Council boss, Jite Brown during their PDP College of Leaders meeting.

According to the Party Chairman, told our correspondent that Mr. Ike Ayoro Akpojotor allegedly threatened to kill him and his boy Omoko Vincent any where he saw them, destroyed the Party Chairman properties while other leaders watch helplessly.

"Ike Ayoro Akpojotor had called me threatened me before coming to my house to destroy my properties boosting that Jite Brown ". 

Contacted those from Aladja via phone call, they said, Yes we were at the party chairman place to protest those from Aladja on the College of Leaders list, Chief C C I Whiliki and Engr Paulson Okobiebi to be replaced with Chief Ernest Jeweto and Dennis Dabuko Kabedje noted that they have to run for their dear life.

As at the time of filling this report the party LGA Chairman Prince Sam C Ughujowhovwo had gone to the police station to formally make entry. 

In a related development, People's Democratic Party, PDP in Udu local government area had suspended Mr. Jite Brown and two serving Councillors over what the party described as gross misconduct.

It was gathered that in the meeting, the party leadership deliberated on the alleged criminal activities of the Udu council chairman who sent thugs to beat up the PDP Chairman Prince Sam C Ughujowhovwo and maliciously destroyed his house and properties, the party leadership therefore condemned the act in its entirety, described the act as callous, barbaric, criminal, anti party, impunity and high level of disloyalty.
It was gathered that the party leadership suspended the Udu local government Chairman, Mr. Jite Brown and two serving councilors,  Ike Ayoro Akpojotor and Henry Engine of Ward 19 & 20 respectively.
The motion to the suspension was moved by Chief Eddie-Onosorhue JP a foremost leader of Udu PDP and was seconded Chief Donald Brosu, Supported by Hon Chief Peter Okgbare Uviejitobor(Member Representing Udu in Delta State House of Assembly), Hon Chief Henry Sakpra (Commissioner for special duties) and all leaders, ward Party chairmen and all LGA Excos. Those that were present in the meeting are Hon Chief Peter Okgbare Uviejitobor (DTHA), Hon Chief Henry Sakpra (Commissioner), Chief Eddie Ono-Sorhue, Hon King Onawhare(Party LGA Secretary), Chief Robert Balance(Party LGA treasurer), Mrs Ufuoma Edewor (LGA Woman Leader), Mr Okotogbo (LGA party Exco) Comr Oyibo Yarhere (Central Party Excos), Chief CCI Williki, Chief Brigue, Peter Okpikpi, Hon Patrick Ariole, Hon Chief Donald Brosu, Mr Masa (Party LGA Excos), Mr Tako (Party LGA Excos), Chief Major Ovien, Ogaga Jeda, Chief Bogban, Hon Notoma,Chief Vincent Oyibode(SA to Governor), Hon Laurence Owumi (SA to Governor), Rewa Okolosi Keshi (Ward 9 chairman),the following ward chairmen ward 1,3,4,5 and 7 respectively.
Contacted on Phone, the Udu Council boss denied the allegation of sending thugs after party members in the area.
He described the Party Chairman as being overbearing, stressed that he was not the candidate of the Party Chairman in the just concluded Local government election in the State, hence the Party Chairman resort to fighting him in the Party.
The Vice Chairman of Udu Local Government, Mr. Justice Iyasere described what happened as minor, which would be resolved, hinted that suspension rumour was to early, however called for calm among warring factions.
