UPU UK President General confers with Chieftancy title, dole out scholarship to Urhobo students

National President, Urhobo Progress Union(UPU), United Kingdom, Chief Emmanuel Okpako Ganiga on  Thursday, January 25, 2018 added another feather to his cap as he was conferred with the title of "Emuesiri of Idjerhe Kingdom" by HRM Edward Otadeferua, Erhiekevwe 1, JP, Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, Ethiope west local government of Delta State  for his numerous contributions to the advancement of Urhobo nation at home and in the diaspora over the years

Speaking at the ceremony, HRM Erhiekevwe 1, JP, Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom commended Olorogun Ganiga for his contributions towards the progress and advancement of the Uthobo nation, called on other prominent Urhobo sons and daughters  to emulate the good gestures of Olorogun (Barr.) Ganiga.

In his comments, Olorogun (Barr.) Ganiga expressed his appreciation to God and the Ovie, HRM Erhiekevwe 1, JP  for finding him worthy for the title, he said that it would spur him to do more for Urhobo nation and humanity, stressed that the title would spur him to do more for the advancement of Urhobo course.

In a related development, the UPU President General UK branch also presented scholarship to Urhobo students that met with the necessary requisite for the 2017/2018 batch of the scholarship, while urging the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the financial assistance given to them.
